Introduction
24uurszeilrace.app is a free companion application created for participants of the 24 Uurs Zeilrace.
The app helps sailors with route planning, automatic race logging, replay generation, personal statistics and live sharing with invited spectators.
This Privacy Notice explains what data we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it.
What we collect
Account information
- Email address
- Name (optional)
- Boat name
- Crew membership
Race data
- GPS location
- Timestamp
- Speed
- Course
- Automatically detected marks
- Crew events
- Photos or voice notes you upload
Device information
- Device type
- Browser
- Anonymous diagnostics
- Crash reports
Why we collect this information
We use your data to:
- provide race tracking
- generate automatic logbooks
- create Replay
- generate personal statistics
- synchronize your data across devices
- allow invited spectators to follow your race
- improve routing algorithms
- improve event detection
- improve future AI models
AI and analytics
Some race information may be processed by AI models to:
- generate race summaries
- detect significant race events
- improve future event recognition
AI never makes official race decisions.
Who can see your data
By default:
- only you can access your race
If you invite spectators
- they can only access races you explicitly share
We never publish your live location publicly without your permission.
Data retention
We keep your race history so you can access your previous races and Replay.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
Third-party services
We currently use:
- Clerk (authentication)
- Neon (database)
- Vercel (hosting)
Additional services may be added as the platform evolves.
